As a planning guide, two lessons per week can take six months or less; three lessons per week can take about four months. Progress depends on preparation, proficiency, weather, aircraft availability, and examiner scheduling. Completion dates are not guaranteed.

We recommend planning a budget of around $20,000 for an airplane private pilot certificate. Your actual cost depends on proficiency, aircraft choice, lesson frequency, and additional training. This is a planning estimate, not a fixed-price package.
